We're based in Raynes Park, SW20, a 5 minute walk from Raynes Park station. For privacy we don't publish the exact address on the website; it's included in your booking confirmation and in the collection email we send 24 hours before your hire starts.
Collection is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, including bank holidays. You can collect at any time on or after your collection date using the details sent to you 24 hours before. We just ask for a rough pick-up and drop-off time so we can coordinate.
You'll receive an email 24 hours before your collection date with the address and instructions for picking up your box, and we ask for a rough pick-up and drop-off time so we can coordinate. On return, follow the same instructions to drop it back. If you'd rather not travel, choose home delivery at checkout.
We'll include parking guidance in your collection email. Most customers drive over, collect the box, take it home to pack their bike, and then drive to the airport.
Late returns are charged at the standard daily hire rate for each additional day or part day beyond your agreed return date. If you know you're going to be late, please contact us in advance — or use the online hire extension if your hire has already started.
If you experience a problem collecting your box, please contact us immediately using the details in your booking confirmation email. We can often resolve issues remotely. If we're unable to resolve the problem and you cannot collect your box, you'll be entitled to a full refund or a rescheduled hire.

It depends on your bike type:
Triathlon Aero Easyfit — best for TT and triathlon bikes (bars stay on), and also fits road bikes, aero bikes and MTBs. The bigger of the two cases.
Premium Plus — best for road and gravel bikes. Handlebars need to be rotated and wheels removed, but the seatpost can usually stay.
If you're unsure, get in touch or use the fit checker on our dimensions page.
Yes — the Triathlon Aero Easyfit is designed specifically for this. TT bars and the base bar can stay in place. You only need to remove the wheels and pedals, which saves significant time and means you don't have to reassemble your position at the race venue.
The Triathlon Aero Easyfit is 133 × 94 × 50 cm and weighs approximately 13 kg. The Premium Plus is 116 × 94 × 38 cm and weighs approximately 12 kg. Both are within the size limits for the major UK airlines. See our dimensions page for full airline compatibility.
Soft items such as race suits, wetsuits, and shoes can be packed around the bike in the Triathlon Easyfit to cushion it and save luggage space. Most airlines do not allow personal items inside a bike box — check your airline's policy before packing anything other than cycling equipment.
A typical road bike packed in the Premium Plus comes in around 20–22 kg total. A TT bike in the Triathlon Easyfit is similar, around 21–23 kg. Both are well within the weight limits for most airlines. We recommend weighing your packed box at home before you leave.
All our BikeBoxAlan cases are inspected and maintained between every hire. If you notice any damage or an issue with the box at the point of collection, please contact us immediately before using it.
We have a full step-by-step packing guide with tailored steps for road bikes, TT bikes, disc brakes, and carbon frames. The key steps are: remove pedals, lower the seatpost, turn or remove the handlebars, protect the rear derailleur, remove the front wheel, align the anti-crush pole, deflate tyres if flying, and pack securely.
You'll need a pedal spanner or 8mm Allen key, an Allen key set, bubble wrap or foam pipe lagging, and zip ties or tape. A track pump is useful if you need to re-inflate tyres at the other end.
The BikeBoxAlan has a built-in anti-crush pole that spans the interior of the case. It prevents the lid being pushed inward under the weight of other luggage stacked on top in the hold — protecting your bike from above. Before closing the lid, always check the pole is correctly seated in both end brackets and clears the frame entirely. A misaligned pole that rests on the frame under load can cause damage, so this step is important.
If you're travelling by air, yes — let some air out of both tyres before flying. Cabin pressure changes can cause over-inflated tyres to bulge, particularly tubeless setups at road pressures. Drop to around 60–70 psi. For car travel this isn't necessary.
The left pedal — it has a reverse thread and undoes clockwise, the opposite of everything else. The other common one is not protecting the rear derailleur, which is the most frequent cause of bike damage in transit.
Around 30–45 minutes the first time, and significantly less once you've done it once. We recommend packing your bike the evening before your flight rather than the morning of, so you're not rushing.
Both our boxes are within the size limits for the major UK carriers including British Airways, easyJet, Ryanair and Jet2. See our airline rules page for specific fees, weight limits, and airline compatibility for both boxes.
Yes — all major airlines require you to pre-book sports equipment in advance. Space in the hold is limited and cannot be guaranteed without prior notice. Some airlines charge more if you add the bike after booking your ticket, so add it at the time of booking.
It varies significantly. British Airways includes the bike in your checked baggage allowance on many fares. easyJet charges around £50 online. Ryanair charges around £60 if added at booking. Jet2 is typically among the cheapest. Use our airline fee calculator to check your specific airline.
Heathrow is the closest major airport — around 30 minutes by car. Gatwick is around 45 minutes. Stansted, Luton and London City are all reachable within an hour depending on traffic.

You are liable for the full replacement cost of the case if it is lost or stolen during your hire period. We recommend checking that your travel or home insurance covers hire equipment in your possession.
